On an entirely different subject after several meetings with the
Phuket director of
Education we have now got the green light to start an
education program within the Thai schools here. Gill has been
working around the clock preparing the lessons and our first class
will be on January 4th., with pupils from Talang school. (There are
60 secondary schools on Phuket)! The picture below is of Gill
presenting copies of a book about a Phuket street dog to pupils from
16 of these schools who attended a conference in Phuket City last
week.

Also in January we have 2 Australian vets scheduled and a team from
the University of Michigan.
A film crew from Channel News Asia (Singapore's principal news
channel) arrive on January 2nd for 3 days to a documentary on Gill
and her work with the dogs despite losing her legs 3 years ago,
which will be screened in 15 Asian countries. The Channel have named
Gill as one of their annual
Asians of the year, and she is the
first non Asian by birth to
receive the award. All helps to spread the word about Soi Dog
in this part of the world.
