You can help build "Hanako's Hospital"...

(in memory of a very special little girl)

Four month old Hanako arrived at the Soi Dog shelter in early August 2011 with paralyzed limbs & suffering pneumonia, showing signs of having a traumatic injury early in life. She was also very thin, covered in parasites & was going to be a real challenge for Dr Su & her team. After a few weeks of treatment & tender loving care she began to walk & her fighting spirit shone through. However Hanako never managed to conquer her pneumonia & sadly she finally lost her battle on 24th September. Hanako touched many hearts & will never be forgotten.

The Hanako Memorial Fund is being launched with the express purpose of building what will become "Hanako Hospital".

The dogs which Soi Dog cares for have needed this new hospital for some time now, but we have been reluctant to upgrade the current facility, as the building stood on the portion of land that Soi Dog did not own. The recent Land Appeal raised the funds to buy this land & we can now confidently improve/build new facilities, without the threat of losing the land on which it stands.  The current hospital cannot cope with the number of treatment cases being dealt with resulting in high risk of cross infection and conditions that do not promote rapid healing.

The new Hanako Hospital will have separate wards, so dogs can be segregated according to condition. New dogs will be quarantined and puppies will be kept separate from larger dogs. The additional space will allow for much needed x-ray facilities which is not possible in the current hospital.
