Milo the Wonderdog Adopted!

" The Beginning... "

Milo survived the tsunami five years ago and now he desperately needs your help! Milo had become the unofficial mascot at the post-tsunami tracking office. There he met and befriended volunteers Robert and Sandra Nock from the UK who spent a year working for the charity in Thailand. After living a comfy life as the mascot for the post-tsunami tracking office for several years, Milo was sadly left behind. Milo continued to live outside the former office, living on what scraps he could find.

About a year later someone who had known Milo received disturbing photos of Milo showing a very old looking  thin mangy dog with thin grey hair, still lying in the same spot. She contacted Soi Dog and Mr. Nok one of our dog catchers recognised him from previous clinics held in the area. John had Mr. Nok pick him up and bring him back to Phuket.

At the same time the person who had received Milo's photos began a campaign to try and raise funds to have him shipped to the States where she would try and find a home for him.

His heart has been broken but he remains loving and gentle with humans,
dogs and even cats! He especially likes people who sneak him birthday cake and sausage snacks and loves being surrounded by attention. Milo “speaks” English and is a wonderful dog. He is getting neutered and microchipped, will be treated for a range of skin diseases and malnourishment, and will be vaccinated under Soi Dog Foundation’s care.

Milo Finds A Home!

Somehow Robert and Sandra became aware of this campaign and contacted us. The net result is that in a few months time Milo will be reunited with these two volunteers who showed him love and compassion. To get to the UK without quarantine is a long process and will mean he will have to spend time in Europe first. Until he can travel to Europe he is living with John and Gill Dalley and their own family of rescued dogs and cats. Following treatment his coat is now thick, black and shiny, though it is interesting that on beach walks, he keeps well away from the sea and often stands and barks at it! Milo is one of thousands of dogs that needs your help.Through adoption and by spreading the word about Soi Dog's Adoption Program you can help get other dogs like Milo loving homes. You can also make an immediate and direct impact by sponsoring one of the dogs or cats who need your help: Sponsor A Dog Or Cat Today!
