Nonin Medical, truly committed to social responsibility ...
Nonin Medical, Inc. just donated a Capnograph and Pulse Oximeter monitoring system to Soi Dog! Nonin is an organization that truely believes in social responsibility. Below is an excerpt from a recent press release detailing Nonin's generosity...
The Nonin LifeSense® VET WIDESCREEN™ Veterinary Capnograph and Pulse Oximeter monitoring system is being used by Soi Dog vets in the clinic and in the field to capture animals’ vital sign data during sterilisation and surgical procedures that require anesthesia or intubation. Placed on the animal’s tongue, the monitor’s lingual sensor records blood oxygen saturation, CO2 levels in the exhaled breath, respiration rate and pulse rate to help veterinarians detect immediate signs of physiological stress during surgical operations.
“As a not-for-profit charity that completely relies on donations, we have to prioritise where we spend our money, and surgical operating monitoring equipment was previously out of our financial reach,” said Soi Dog Foundation Manager John Dalley. “Thanks to Nonin Medical, we now have further cutting-edge technology to help us provide better care for our animals when operating, and in caring for the very sick animals that require continuous monitoring."

"As a leader in veterinary medical monitoring, Nonin Medical is pleased to partner with Soi Dog Foundation to improve the animal welfare of stray dogs and cats in Thailand," said Stuart Rome, Asia Pacific Sales Manager, Nonin Medical, Inc. “Our monitoring equipment is durable and reliable in the toughest conditions. The extreme conditions encountered in the field during surgery make accurately monitoring an animal’s vital signs particularly challenging, and our LifeSense unit is particularly well suited to the task.”
Nonin Medical employees became aware Soi Dog Foundation’s work from watching the "Soi Dogs" movie DVD online at www.soidog.org.
“When you see the miraculous transformation of the animals after Soi Dog treats them, donating the equipment was the least we could do,” said Rome.
