Tiger is just one of many severely abused dogs we see every day. You can make a huge difference in the life of a dog or cat like Tiger. Please read John's story of Tiger and consider adopting or sponsoring a dog or cat today. We can and will continue to help these animals, but can only do so with your help. Dear Friends & Supporters of Soi Dog,Thank you for your continued support of the neglected and abused animals. Unfortunately, Tiger is just one of many animals who have been severely and deliberately abused. Tiger was found yesterday hiding under a building with her mother after a concerned person had phoned the shelter. Why Are We Featuring Her? Without your support, animals like Tiger have nobody to help them. It is through the support of people like you that the lives of dogs and cats like Tiger are saved. Soi Dog's work in saving these animals and reducing pain and suffering through our sterilization program continues to be successful but there is still a long road ahead. The animals cannot travel this road alone; they need you by their side. With your sponsorship, you will help shelter these dogs and cats and find them new homes... you will help expand our sterilization and treatment programs for those animals that urgently need your help... you will make an immediate difference in the lives of these animals. We need your help to save more animals like Tiger! To sponsor a dog or cat today please click here: Sponsor A Dog Or Cat Today
Remember Shanti from April's newsletter? With Your Help 28,000 Dogs and Cats Have Been Sterilized to Date! What does 28,000 dogs and cats mean in reality? The main aim of the Soi Dog Foundation is to prevent the suffering of unwanted dogs and cats. The Humane Society has demonstrated that one pair of cats alone can produce several million offspring exponentially in a matter of a few years. In reality, this would never happen as there would not be the food source to support such a number and they would starve to death. With the rapid growth of Phuket's human population, the number of stray dogs and cats should have also risen dramatically. Thanks to your help in supporting Soi Dog's sterilization program the number of stray animals has noticeably fallen and the condition of the others improved dramatically. The birth of tens of thousands of unwanted puppies and kittens has been prevented. What Would Have Happened If You Had Done Nothing? Most would have died from starvation, disease and injury. Others would have been poisoned or disposed of by other inhumane methods in an attempt to keep the numbers down. Stray dogs afflicted with mange and other diseases would be everywhere. Although we still do see sometimes horrific cases, the situation is far better than it otherwise would have been. However, with new dogs arriving on the island each week, brought on by construction workers and market traders in the main, the problem is still there and must be kept on top of, or the situation will get rapidly out of control yet again. Soi Dog continues to expand and operate mobile clinics in Phang Nga and Krabi provinces and on offshore islands. In Kao Lak for example the local authorities have agreed to stop the poisoning of dogs because of what we are doing with your help. Soi Dog Foundation continues to expand our sterilization/desexing program, which is the only long term and humane solution for helping the stray dogs and cats. Soi Dog is a NO KILL shelter and rescue organization. We NEVER turn an animal away; dogs and cats that have been the victims of appalling cruelty and neglect. Often requiring months of treatment these animals can never be returned to the situation that brought them to us in the first place. That is why your participation in our adoption and sponsorship programs is so important. Please consider sponsoring a dog like Tiger today to help us continue to provide treatment and a home for dogs like her. The animals thank you for your support, and please forward this email on to your friends and family. Thank You,
