I used to live with nine of my feline friends and a human family. One day our owners left us in cages and never came back. The vets think we could have been there for as long as three weeks! Thank goodness someone discovered us and brought us to Soi Dog’s shelter here in Phuket, Thailand.

It had been a very traumatic experience for all of us, and at first we were terrified of everything at the shelter. We all stayed together, instinctively huddling up for protection.

Most of the time we stayed up on the highest climbing shelf. We were so distressed by what happened, we just wanted to hide. I am far less scared now, but I am definitely a cat who likes her own space.

I am a Tuxedo cat with a distinct heart on my nose. I am not the first to come and say hello to visitors, but that's because I'm not an attention seeker. Being the independent and self-contained cat that I am, visitors usually find me minding my own business or grooming myself in a quiet corner. But, if they approach me, I will sometimes give them an elegant kiss on the nose and a gentle head butt.

I can still live upto old age if I have the right care and living a stress-free life. I may even out-live other cats!
