Mirko is a miracle dog
My personality: Gentle, friendly, super sweet, strong-willed.
My story: You may have heard my harrowing story already as it sent shockwaves around Soi Dog and on social media too. I was the victim of unthinkable cruelty, arriving at the shelter with my front legs barely attached to my body. Someone had slashed me with a brush cutter and left me for dead in a rubber plantation. The damage was so severe, both legs had to be amputated, and I was in the intensive care unit for many weeks. But this street dog isn’t the kind to give up. I took it all in my new two-legged stride and have since learnt to use prosthetics (well, actually I prefer to just use one!), wiz around in my wheelchair and stand on my hind legs like a meerkat!
My needs: You would think that my terrible ordeal would have tainted my view of people, but it hasn’t at all. I am one of the most friendly, gentle and trusting dogs you could hope to meet, and I haven’t come across a human yet that I didn’t like! And trust me, I’ve met a lot of humans as people love to visit me in my special care kennel. I have lots of time for people, and I’m looking for a family who has lots of time for me too. I am, however, very scared of other dogs, so it’s important that I’m the only dog in my future home. If you think you could give me the life I deserve, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I have so much love to give and will inspire you every day with my resilience and spirit.
