Sondra Sieminski

Vice President of Soi Dog Canada

Sondra grew up with a love of animals, in particular horses, dogs and cats, all of which have played a significant part in teaching her both patience and the meaning of unconditional love. She is passionate about the welfare of all sentient beings and as such has been involved in various forms of animal rights activism for many years, most notably the groups Animal Save Movement and Direct Action Everywhere, attending disruptions, protests, marches and vigils on behalf of so many different species.

A retired teacher, she was introduced to Soi Dog Canada by treasurer Barby Wolfish in 2015. In Sondra’s own words, she gained inspiration from then president, Candace Cornock, and is privileged and proud to be a part of an organisation that works tirelessly to improve the lives of cats and dogs across Asia, something that is very close to her heart.

In her current position as vice president, she performs a variety of roles including fundraising, participating in educational outreach and working directly with adopters of soi dogs and cats and partner rescue organisations in Canada.

Originally from England, Sondra has called Canada home for over 40 years. In her spare time, she enjoys horse riding, spending time with her grandchildren and walking her beloved rescued dog, Mazey.
