Visitor and Tour Information

The Soi Dog sanctuary is in Phuket, Thailand, and is open to visitors Monday to Friday - mornings from 9:00am until 11:30am and afternoons from 1:00pm until 3:30pm. Guided tours commence at 10:00am and 1:30pm.

Tours are free and do not have to be booked in advance. They are conducted in English and in Thai. Information in other languages is available in leaflet form at the sanctuary.

We welcome over 5,000 visitors each year and rank highly on Trip Advisor as one of the best places to visit on Phuket.

Following your guided tour, you are invited to join the mayhem of our puppy run and spend time in our cosy cattery.

For the safety and wellbeing of both animals and humans, visitors are not permitted to roam unattended around the sanctuary.

We have merchandise available in the visitor centre where you can find Soi Dog clothing and souvenir ranges. Cash and credit cards are accepted for merchandise donations.

Please note: The shelter is closed to visitors on Saturday and Sunday.

What to expect

You will be welcomed at our visitor and volunteer centre by one of our visitor and volunteer coordinators. The 40-minute guided tour will then take you around the sanctuary, explaining the history and goals of Soi Dog Foundation and how we are fighting the dog meat trade and other forms of animal suffering in Asia, and introduce you to some of the 1,800 animals in our care. Towards the end of the tour, you will have the chance to spend some time in the puppy enclosure and meet some of our feline friends in the Soi Dog cattery. When you've finished, you have the option to browse our merchandise store in the comfort of the visitor centre.

Please note that occasionally, the puppy enclosure and some areas of the cattery require quarantining at short notice to stop the spread of infections. We apologise in advance if any of these areas are not accessible on the day you choose to visit.

Many visitors ask if they can donate supplies. Soi Dog Foundation is always in need of both general and medical supplies and you will find our full wish list here.

If you have any further questions about visiting the sanctuary, please email info@soidog.org.
