Terms and Conditions: 

• I will familiarise myself and comply with the Soi Dog Foundation sanctuary policies and procedures applicable to volunteers. In particular, I fully understand that Soi Dog Foundation expects high standards of moral and ethical treatment of the animals under its care. I will adhere strictly to these standards in my capacity as a volunteer.  

• I will follow the policies, procedures and safety precautions of the Soi Dog Foundation sanctuary.  

• I will follow the instructions/directions of the staff of the Soi Dog Foundation sanctuary.  

• I understand that Soi Dog Foundation, without notice or hearing, may terminate my time as a volunteer at any time, with or without reason. 

• If a volunteer exhibits what Soi Dog considers to be irresponsible or dangerous behaviour in the sanctuary, Soi Dog Foundation reserves the right to ask that volunteer to leave the shelter premises, and Soi Dog Foundation will not be held responsible for paying any costs related to medical treatment, or any costs related to the disruption of the volunteer’s agenda. 

• I understand the potential safety risks of working with animals and of bringing home illnesses from the sanctuary, to myself or my personal pets. I will practice reasonable health hygiene and adhere to the hygiene policies of Soi Dog Foundation.  

• I hereby expressly and specifically assume responsibility for the risk of injury or harm whilst volunteering at Soi Dog Foundation and release the foundation from all liability for injury, illness, death, or property damage or loss resulting from the activities, releasing and forever discharging Soi Dog Foundation from any claim whatsoever which arises, or may hereafter arise, on account of any first aid, treatment or service rendered. 

• Soi Dog Foundation will not be held responsible for any incidents or accidents that may occur to volunteers before, during, or after sanctuary hours.  

• I acknowledge that Soi Dog Foundation is not required to reimburse the volunteer for any expenses that may be incurred or provide cover for medical costs, transportation, accommodation, meals, equipment or clothing. 

• I acknowledge that Soi Dog Foundation is not responsible for any allergic reaction that may be experienced as a result of coming into contact with wheat, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, milk or any other allergens that I may encounter during my visit.

• Please note that visiting the runs at the Soi Dog Foundation sanctuary requires the ability to function with little supervision and interaction with staff.  

• Please also note that, although not common place, there is a likelihood you may see some very distressing sights, such as dogs and cats brought to the sanctuary hospital with terrible injuries.  

Under age Volunteers: 

Those people under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. People aged between 16 and 18 years can visit on their own, but must have written consent from a parent or legal guardian.  

Permission and release of liability for visitors under the age of 18: 

In consideration of Soi Dog Foundation offering the opportunity to volunteer at the sanctuary, I/we agree by signing this document to the following, intending to be legally bound: 

• My/our child(ren) or child(ren) under my/our guardianship has enough experience with dogs and/or cats and is mature enough to visit the sanctuary and to participate with dogs/puppies of all sizes and/or cats/kittens. 

• Whenever my/our child(ren) or child(ren) under my/our legal guardianship participate(s) in the sanctuary’s activities, I/we hereby release and agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the sanctuary, it’s directors, officers, employees, agents, and visitors and it’s and theirs heirs, successors, assigns and personal representatives from and against liability for any injuries, damages, liabilities, losses, judgments, costs or expenses whatsoever (the “Losses”), which such child(ren) or any pet or other person might suffer or sustain, except any losses which are the result of the Soi Dog sanctuary’s gross negligence or intentional misconduct.    

• I acknowledge that there are risks that the child(ren) could be bitten, scratched, injured or frightened by the dogs/puppies and/or the cats/kittens and I/we assume such risks. 

• I understand that Soi Dog Foundation is not required to carry or maintain health, medical, or disability insurance coverage for any minor. 

• I take responsibility for any harm or damage to property, staff, volunteers and animals under care with the understanding that they will be held liable for any required compensation, costs or expenses related to the minors’ behaviour and/or lack of adult duty of care.  

Contributor Permission and Release for still and moving images;

• I agree and irrevocably consent that I have the right to participate in the Content and I grant all consents required under law to allow Soi Dog Foundation to use the recording of the Contribution in the Content (“the Contribution”). I agree that my contribution may include filming, photographs or interviews with Soi Dog Foundation, intentional or unintentional, and such participation shall be included in the definition of “Content” and “Contribution” for the purposes of this Consent Form.

• I agree that the copyright, if any, in the Contribution and all other rights title and interest shall be fully assigned with full title to Soi Dog Foundation now and/or in the future. I irrecoverably waive the right to assert any moral rights under any law. I grant to Soi Dog Foundation the fullest use of the Contribution for exploitation throughout the world by any and all means in all media whether now known or hereinafter invented, developed or discovered in perpetuity in connection with the Content or for any other use of the Content owned and controlled or represented by Soi Dog Foundation. Soi Dog Foundation shall have to the right to edit, copy, add, exhibit, promote, transmit, distribute, translate, dub in English or a foreign language, adapt, cut, manipulate, reproduce exploit all or any part of the Contribution as Soi Dog Foundation deems fit. The Contribution can be used by Soi Dog Foundation without any fee being due or becoming payable and Soi Dog Foundation shall have no further obligations arising directly or indirectly to me or any third party representing me. I understand there is no obligation by Soi Dog Foundation to exploit or use the Content.

• Soi Dog Foundation may, without my further consent, use my name, likeness, biography, photographs of me and recordings of interviews with me in advertising, publicising, promoting the Content in all media formats throughout the world.

• I am able to give the Contribution and have the legal capacity to freely enter into this Consent Form and to the best of my knowledge and belief the Contribution is truthful, genuine, does not infringe any copyright and data protection laws, and is not a breach of confidence, defamatory, libellous, constitute a contempt of court, an act(s) that shall bring Soi Dog Foundation into disrepute or is an act in contravention of the Official Secrets Act.

• I agree to grant to Soi Dog Foundation the right to use, reproduce and/or exploit, as Soi Dog Foundation in its sole discretion thinks fit: (a) all materials supplied by you to Soi Dog Foundation (“Materials”); and (b) your name, photograph(s), voice, likeness and biography throughout the universe in perpetuity by any and all means and in any and all media, whether now known or in the future devised, without further payment, liability or acknowledgement to you, including without limitation whether within the Material or otherwise, for publicity, marketing and/or promotional purposes in respect of the Material and in connection with all exploitation by Soi Dog Foundation of the Material, Contribution and/or ancillary rights including print and digital publications based upon the Material and in support materials on line.

• Soi Dog Foundation shall not be liable to me or my legal representatives for any loss or damage or injury to me or my property caused or suffered in connection to Soi Dog Foundation’s making of the Content.

• I agree that I shall not either personally or by other means make any statement or disclose any confidential information or methods of production to any third party or any media related organisation relating to the Content, or the general affairs of Soi Dog Foundation unless there is a prior written consent from Soi Dog Foundation.

• I will indemnify Soi Dog Foundation against all claims, damages, and losses arising as a result of a breach of any warranties I make under this Consent Form.

Daily transportation provided to and from Soi Dog Foundation;

Transportation to and from Nai Yang and Soi Dog Foundation sanctuary in Mai Khao is provided to volunteers on a daily basis. It follows a predetermined route set out by Soi Dog Foundation and stops at various locations in Nai Yang only.

The route times, as set out in the volunteer handbook, are approximate times only. A window of anticipated arrival times is provided, within which the transport could arrive at any time.

The fee applicable to volunteers, as set out in the volunteer handbook, is fixed and payable in advance on a minimum weekly basis.

• I hereby acknowledge (if applicable) that I am liable for the fee which relates to the transportation to and from the Soi Dog Foundation sanctuary, as set out by Soi Dog Foundation, and that I will settle the outstanding fee on a minimum weekly basis.

• Soi Dog Foundation reserves the right to refuse transportation to anybody deemed to be in breach of its payment agreement, as set out in this document.

• Soi Dog Foundation shall not be held responsible for paying any costs incurred by the volunteer in relation to the failure to meet the required pick-up or drop-off service, for the early or late arrival of the service and/or any subsequent costs incurred by the volunteer in relation to the seeking of alternative means of transport or for the cancellation or suspension of this service, for whatever reason.

Waiver and Release:  

I, the undersigned, agree to forever release, waive, acquit, discharge and covenant to hold harmless Soi Dog Foundation, its successors, officers, servants, agents, employees and visitors from any and all claims, actions, causes of action, demands, losses, damages, liabilities, loss of services, expenses and compensation, on account of or in any way growing out of any and all known  or unknown personal injuries or property damage which the undersigned may have now or hereafter resulting to or to result from the undersigned performing services for Soi Dog Foundation, its officers, directors, employees or volunteers. 

I recognize that there are risks inherent in handling animals, and while performing other services for Soi Dog Foundation. Nevertheless, I hereby agree to assume those risks and to release and to hold harmless all of the agencies or persons mentioned, whether caused directly or indirectly by any negligence (active or passive) attributable to Soi Dog Foundation, its animals, officers, directors, employees or volunteers.  

It is further understood and agreed that this waiver, release and assumption of risk is to be binding on my heirs and assigns.
