Meet Matthau
Story
Matthau was a two-month old puppy when she arrived at Soi Dog Foundation with a fractured right forelimb after being involved in a road traffic accident. Matthau underwent surgery to heal the bone but a deformity formed at her carpal joint. Unresponsive to medication and unable to use her right forelimb, Matthau's right front leg was amputated. Today, Matthau is weight bearing on his remaining three limbs without any signs of pain or lameness. She is ready to find her forever home!
In the run
- Excited, energetic, friendly and approaches visitors.
- Wants attention and affection.
- Possessive when other dogs approach, shows teeth then calms when other dog leaves.
Outside
- Walks (more like hops) and explores confidently and enthusiastically.
- Does tire easily.
- Friendly with people passing by and would approach gently.
- No issues walking near another dog.
Off lead
- Explored the environment calmly.
- Interested in toys and wants to play.
- Approaches and will follow when called.
THE ADOPTION PROCESS

Initial enquiry
Submit an adoption enquiry, answering some initial questions about your family, lifestyle and ideal companion.
Interview
Join a video call with one of our adoption coordinators to help find your perfect match. Discuss the dog’s medical history, behavioural needs and more.
Home Assessment
Complete a home visit – either in person or virtually – with one of our staff or volunteers to ensure you have everything in place to welcome a rescue dog.
Adoption agreement
Sign the adoption agreement, confirming your commitment to the care of your chosen dog.
Travel arrangements
Let our logistics team arrange your dog’s journey to you. Collect your new best friend from a pre-arranged location and enjoy a lifetime of happiness together!
