Can you help me find a home in Canada or the USA?
Hi! I’m Yamo, but the people who know me here in Ontario, Canada, call me Mia.
I haven’t always lived in Canada. In fact, I was born many thousands of miles away on the island of Phuket in Thailand. I spent some time in a government pound there before being transferred to the Soi Dog shelter. After almost two years at Soi Dog, I flew to Canada where a family was kind enough to adopt me. Unfortunately, circumstances have since changed, so I’m looking for a new home.
A bit about me… I'm a happy and affectionate girl who loves spending time with people. I enjoy being petted and will often seek out attention from those around me. My foster family say I've settled in nicely and adapted well despite all the changes I've experienced. I'm great on a lead and generally ignore other dogs when I'm out and about. Around the house, I'm calm and easy-going.
One thing you should know about me is that I have quite a strong prey drive. Rabbits are endlessly fascinating, and given the chance, I'd happily chase them all day! Because of this, and because I prefer having my own space, I'm looking for a home where I can be the only pet.
My ideal home would be with experienced dog owners who understand rescue dogs and can give me the time, patience and companionship I deserve. I'd do best in an adult-only home without children, cats or other dogs, and I'd especially love someone who is home for much of the day.
After everything I’ve been through, I would really appreciate a place where I can settle down for good, so if you’re in Canada or the USA and looking for a friend, please consider me, Mia.
