Meet Shadow
Hi! I’m Shadow, an active, confident and friendly boy looking for a home.
My past is something of a mystery. However, it’s suspected that I was abandoned on the streets by my family. Out there in the unknown, I soon found myself injured. Fortunately, a kind person saw me limping and called Soi Dog who sent their rescue officers to get me. With treatment and rest at their hospital, I made a full recovery.
Understandably, I was a little wary of people after arriving at the shelter. After all, humans had really let me down. However, the behaviour team worked closely with me, and I was able to build my confidence and trust and let my true personality shine for all to see!
In keeping with my Collie looks, I’m an active boy who’s always excited to head out of my enclosure for a walk. In the off-lead areas, I run and explore almost non-stop, pausing only for some pets and cuddles. I haven’t really learnt how to play in the traditional way that many dogs play, with tennis balls and such, but I still have a lot of fun. I can even dance – I stand on my hind legs, put my front legs in the air and hop around. How many shelter dogs can do that, hey?!

THE ADOPTION PROCESS

Initial enquiry
Submit an adoption enquiry, answering some initial questions about your family, lifestyle and ideal companion.
Interview
Join a video call with one of our adoption coordinators to help find your perfect match. Discuss the dog’s medical history, behavioural needs and more.
Home Assessment
Complete a home visit – either in person or virtually – with one of our staff or volunteers to ensure you have everything in place to welcome a rescue dog.
Adoption agreement
Sign the adoption agreement, confirming your commitment to the care of your chosen dog.
Travel arrangements
Let our logistics team arrange your dog’s journey to you. Collect your new best friend from a pre-arranged location and enjoy a lifetime of happiness together!
