Meet Stephen the Shepherd

Hi! I’m Stephen, a confident, energetic, friendly and playful boy looking for a home.

As you may have noticed, I’m not the kind of rescue dog you typically find at Soi Dog. While most of my shelter mates are mixed breeds, I’m a fully fledged German Shepherd.

I was rescued after suffering abuse and neglect at the hands of my previous owner. I didn’t deserve what happened to me – but despite it all, I’ve held onto my good nature and trust in people. Since recovering from my ordeal, I’ve become something of a favourite among the volunteers here!

True to my breed, I’m intelligent, loyal and full of energy and confidence. I love splashing in the pool, chasing the water hose and generally making a big, joyful mess when water is involved. I also have a serious soft spot for tennis balls (though be warned – I tend to chew right through them!)

What I’m looking for now is a family who can give me the love, exercise and mental stimulation I thrive on. A home with no cats, plenty of space to play and someone who understands the needs of a Shepherd like me would be ideal. Can you show me what a true loving family feels like?
