MY STORY
For months, I was left chained on a balcony, lonely and confused. I cried for someone – anyone—to help me, but no one came. Just a drop-off of food here and there, and someone to clean the mess I’d made. That was my version of love. It changed me, and I felt my trust in people fading.
What had I done to deserve such a life?
One day, my nightmare ended when someone took notice of me and life as I knew it changed overnight. All of a sudden, there were people helping me and trying to be the friend I’d always wanted, always needed. I wanted to be grateful, and happy, but it was overwhelming. I was scared, confused, and even a bit angry sometimes.
Then I met a very special human, called a behaviourist, who wanted to help me navigate these big feelings I was having. All of a sudden, I felt seen in a way I’d never felt before.

Dogs like me arrive with nothing but our broken hearts. We’ve experienced neglect in ways that no animal ever should, and have known a reality that makes trust the scariest thing in the world.
