I am well aware that most people who know my wife and I consider us to be totally insane and maybe they have a point! I was in the fortunate position of being able to retire here six years ago at a relatively young age, and felt it would be good to try and put something back into the community that I had adopted as my home. Maybe a day or two a week helping at a local special school was what sprung to mind at the time. The rest of my days would be spent indulging in my passion for diving and taking up golf again.

The Evason Phuket is sponsoring Soi Dog through wine sales.
There is an Australian range of wines called
Shadow’s Run from Fox Creek winery with the
dog on the label,
The Evason will offer the wine by the glass and percentage of sales will go to Soi
Dog:
In line with our philosophy of care for animals and the environment, Evason Six Senses Resort is proud to announce a fundraising partnership with the Soi Dog Foundation of Phuket. Ten percent of all the sales of our excellent Shadows Run Cabernet-Shiraz and Chardonnay from 10 Creek Vineyards, Australia will be donated to this not-for-profit organization. The proceeds will contribute to providing much needed medical care, food and shelter to dogs and cats who are suffering from injuries, hunger and neglect.
Soi Dog provides rehabilitation for these animals until they are strong and healthy while seeking to find excellent homes for them. Thousands of animals now have secure and loving families because of the efforts of the team of dedicated veterinarians, caretakers and fundraisers volunteering for this great cause. The shelter is located at 57/61 Moo 4, Srisoonthorn Road, Cherngtalay, Amphur Talang, Phuket. For directions, please see the website at
www.soidog.org and add another valuable member to your family.
To contribute to this great organization, feel free to join us at the Evason for a dining experience in one of our excellent restaurants with panoramic sea views and an unparalleled ambiance. Our sommelier and staff will recommend the perfect dishes to complement this fabulous wine that just so happens to have a picture of a beautiful Australian Shepherd on the label.
Rob's Diary, an SDF volunteer
Since first volunteering in 2007, Soi
Dog has been on my mind and in my heart. It is easy for me to express
myself in this way since I am the proud guardian of a rescued Soi Dog
that I met last year while volunteering. Read more
Dr. Su one of our new vets (seen here treating another dog) is a wounds
specialist which will help many dogs to a much speedier recovery.
Already many dogs have benefited from her expertise.
When John saw this dog a week ago he thought it would be huge and lengthy task
for the wound to heal if indeed it could.
The second photo was taken just 6 days later and you can already see the
vast improvement.

In the Media
A recent mini TV program by PG TV about the dogs at Soi Dog Foundation www.soidog-foundation.org. There are 2 parts
Claudia and Edi from Germany brought Steve to SDF
on April
16th 09 from Ko Lanta as Steve was blind and would not have been able to survive
on his own. Steve is now doing OK. The first few weeks he never moved from under the sala and always looked very sad.
This week he has started jumping on top of the sala and plays with another
brown dog we have moved there because she was always very frightened of
other dogs.
They play together very well and he is now looking much happier. He is a
very gentle dog. Also when Steve arrived he showed no reaction when I passed
my hand in front of his eyes, but now he is reacting so wonder if in fact he
is starting to see again.
