Adopted animals traveling with a passenger as accompanied baggage cost considerably less to transport then if flown as cargo. Flight Volunteers help reduce the cost of overseas adoptions which helps get more animals adopted!

ALL pre flight arrangements are handled by Soi Dog, you may be required to phone your airline & book the animal onto your flight. A Soi Dog representative will bring the animal to the airport and meet you there prior to your flight. Upon arriving at the destination you will be met by the adopter. In other words no work or expense involved on your part.

If you have confirmed or tentative plans to travel to Phuket and are interested in being a flight volunteer please follow the link below to register your interest. NOTE: Please inform Soi Dog of your interest as far in advance as possible noting that for flights to Europe it is often helpful to have approxiametly 3 months notice. Not all airlines to Europe have cheaper prices for travelling with pets.

Stopovers in other countries are not allowed. It is fine however to transit through other countries (in other words change planes, refuel etc.)

Flight volunteer opportunities are NOT available for travel to the UK, Australia or New Zealand. UK does not allow accompanied animals to arrive at it's airportd. Australia & New Zealand have a 7 month quarantine period that can only be served in specific countries, Thailand is not one of them.

Soi Dog's Flight Volunteer Program, how it works:

• You are already going on a holiday or business trip to Thailand.

• You do not pay for the extra baggage costs and Soi Dog handles all check-in procedures.

• Upon arriving in your home country you collect the pet from the 'oversize baggage' section of baggage reclaim.

• The animal (and you) are received at the airport by a VERY happy and grateful family...

More cost effective: Soi Dog is a charitable organization and our finances are very limited. This means that even with a potential adopter paying to cover most of the preparation and travel costs, it is still an expensive process to send an animal abroad, so whenever we can use Flight Volunteers, it becomes much more cost effective.

Less stress for the animal: Using Flight Volunteers also makes it a lot less stressful for the animal as they can be with the animal right up until just before boarding time; whereas with Cargo, the animal is checked in 4+ hours before hand and is left in their crate all that time.

. EVA Air from Bangkok to New York (EVA have good rates for animals on all their flights to North America)

Westbound Flights Transiting Through Bangkok - Same as Europe (above). Flying Thai Airways from Phuket to Bangkok the animal will be transferred to your international flight. Avoid transiting in Hong Kong. Note Air Asia and other budget airlines flying from Phuket to Bangkok do not carry pets.

Eastbound Flights Transiting Through Bangkok - any airline. Flying Thai Airways from Phuket to Bangkok the animal will be transferred to your international flight. Avoid transiting in Hong Kong.
