Soi Dog Foundation is partnering with dog rescue organizations in the United States and Canada in our effort to re-home over 1000 dogs rescued from the illegal dog meat trade and streets of Thailand.
The dogs adopted through the Partner Rescue Program are drawn from 3 sources: survivors of the illegal dog meat trade and vulnerable street dogs rescued from a government shelter in Northern Thailand (DMT), vulnerable street dogs found in the Government Dog Pound in Phuket (GDP) or dogs living in Soi Dog Foundation’s Phuket Shelter (PS).
Thousands of dogs have been stolen from the streets of Thailand over the past 30 years. Street dogs and pets are kidnapped and stuffed into small wire cages. Terrified and struggling to breathe they travel for days and days without food or water. When they reach their final destination they are unloaded, tortured and boiled alive. Their skins ripped from their bodies in the twisted belief that this will make their meat taste better.
Soi Dog Foundation has been working tirelessly to stop this illegal barbaric trade in dog meat and skins. Hundreds of dogs have already been rescued and re-homed in North America through the Partner Rescue Program.
We still need to find forever homes for the remaining dogs. If your rescue is able to help us re-home some of them please contact PartnerRescue@soidog.org. We have flight volunteers available to bring your dogs home to North America.
Please partner with Soi Dog Foundation to give these dogs a second chance in life.
